The Law Enforcement Explorers Program (LEEP) is making every effort to ensure that young people are directed and guided towards more meaningful and rewarding lives. The program, which is comprised of law enforcement officers and volunteers, works with businesses, non-profit organizations, state governments, and various agencies to develop activities for young people. The activities are varied, but they are all designed to entice young people to stay in school and to keep away from the use of illegal substances and consumption of alcohol.
During the first weekend of May, LEEP held its 3rd annual softball tournament, aptly named Commander Rochelle Mara Klikm Alonz Memorial in honor of Rochelle – a dedicate and committed participant of LEEP who passed away last year. The tournament was held in Ngarchelong; and despite the heavy rain and the muddy field, the LEEP participants did get high on life and it was all fun and memorable – many thanks to everyone who pitched in.
