(Office of the Governor-elect and Lt. Governor-elect) — Gov.-elect Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov.-elect David M. Apatang have formed their key transition and inauguration committees to lead the process of ensuring a smooth, timely and orderly transition of governmental power on Jan. 9. 2023.
Former Rep. Juan “Liling” I. Reyes is appointed overall chairman to oversee these two critical committees. He will be assisted by former Speaker Oscar M. Babauta who will be the vice chairman for the inauguration subcommittee and former Rep. Claudio K. Norita who will be the vice chairman of the transition subcommittee and assisting Mr. Reyes in such capacity.
These three gentlemen will be assisted by various members of our community who represent a cross-section of our CNMI government, our private sector as well as community volunteers. The committees will also work with various private businesses that have stepped forward to assist in the inauguration activities.
Gov.-elect Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov.-elect David M. Apatang have full confidence in Chairman Juan I. Reyes and his vice chairmen and, most importantly, in the many volunteers who will assist in the transition and inauguration events.
Arnold I. Palacios and Dave M. Apatang
