119 Filipinos benefit from consular services on Tinian

Consul General Medardo G. Macaraig said the management of Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, led by its general manager Tom Liu, its Filipino staff and several Filipino volunteers welcomed and assisted the consular team during the delivery of the consular services.

He said Francisca Esguerra volunteered her services during the information campaign and throughout the conduct of services at the hotel.

“The consulate expresses its appreciation for the continued support of these individuals in its efforts to bring services closer to Filipinos in Tinian,” he added.

Before the team’s visit, he said Fr. Sid Ogumoro of the San Jose Church informed his parishioners about the scheduled program.

During their visit on Sept. 16 and 17, Macaraig said the Filipino community on Tinian also discussed several issues with consulate officials, including the recent release of the federal regulation for transitional workers and the other programs offered by the consulate.

A total of 119 Filipinos availed of passport, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration membership and other consular services during the visit.

The team included Labor Representative Carmelina Velasquez, Welfare Officer Julia Fabian, Nerisa Anastacio, Rowena Tolosa and Antonio David.

On Oct. 1 and 2, the consulate is scheduled to visit Rota to deliver consular services to the Filipino community at the Northern Marianas College Rota campus.
