2 arrested for ‘ice’ trafficking

Gu Xue Tian, male, and Yin Bao Hong, female, appeared in court for their initial appearance yesterday under the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Tian and Hong, who were arrested on Friday, were held on charges of possession and trafficking of “ice.”

Associate Judge David A. Wiseman retained the $60,000 bail he earlier imposed each on Tian and Hong, both of whom he ordered arrested after Detective Roque K. Camacho filed an affidavit of probable cause.

The court directed Tian and Hong not to obtain new travel documents.

Tian was arrested at a residence near an auto shop on Martinez Road in Koblerville.

On April 9, 2010, Detectives Camacho and Sean White learned from a cooperating source of the Department of Public Safety that Tian was a source of “ice” in the recent major drug bust in the Papago area, authorities said.

On April 20, 2010, members of the department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau and CNMI Customs Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a recorded and controlled buy-walk operation against Tian based on the search warrant issued by Judge Wiseman.

Police were able to buy $200 worth of “ice” from Tian.

A woman, later identified as Hong, met with the cooperating source and handed the “ice” to the cooperating source in front of San Antonio Supermarket, which is within 1,000 feet of a school property of San Antonio Elementary School, authorities said.

On the next day, April 21, another buy-walk operation was conducted involving Hong, Tian and $50 worth of “ice.”
