2 arrested for selling cocaine

THE Department of Public Safety-Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a covert operation on Tuesday, Jan. 7 leading to the arrest of Juan Rios Taitano, a.k.a. JT-1, and Victoria Maria Aldan Reyes for selling cocaine.

“DETF operatives managed to purchase $170 worth of the drug cocaine weighing approximately 3.07 gross grams,” Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, criminal charges were filed against Taitano and Aldan, Manacop added. 

Superior Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $25,000 bail on each of these two defendants who are currently detained at the Department of Corrections. 

In light of recent reports that cocaine is being sold and used within the community, DPS is asking the public to provide any relevant information by calling the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (670) 664-9042, DPS headquarters at (670) 664-9001, or the Crime Stoppers hotline at (670) 234-7272 for those who would like to remain anonymous.
