2 suspects behind burglaries arrested

Julian M. Sablan, 21, and Jeffery Cabrera Magofna, 28, appeared in court for their initial appearance before Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo.

Sablan and Magofna were being held on the charge of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Assistant Attorneys General Brian Gallagher and Eli Golob represented the government while attorney Loren Sutton was appointed to represent Sablan. Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke appeared for Magofna.

Govendo imposed a $15,000 cash bail on Sablan, and set a $10,000 cash bail for Magofna.

Department of Public Safety spokesman PO2 Eric David said among the establishments burglarized by Magofna were the Twins Super Market in Puerto Rico, the Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Susupe village, the law office of attorney Joe Hill, also in Susupe, and the Star Water Company.

Investigators said Sablan, together with two other suspects, were responsible for breaking in at Twins Supermarket on June 1, 2010.

Police said the establishment lost over $7,000 of merchandise.

On Friday, June 18, police responded to a burglary at Star Water where Magofna was arrested.

Magofna’s accomplices — Zinita Cabrera, the driver, and Joann Camacho, the passenger — were held in their get-away vehicle.

Cabrera and Camacho told police they dropped Magofna and Sablan to several places, including the area behind the DFS Galleria.
