Superior Court Judge Joseph Camacho ruled that there was probable cause for the arrest of Robustiano Rull Matsutaro, 53; Ramon Sablan Tudela, 47; and Baxter Tomei, 18.
The respondents were brought to Superior Court on Friday for their probable cause hearings.
A $26,250 bail was imposed on Matsutaro who was being held on charges of attempted rape, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Tudela was arrested on the charge of disturbing the peace with bail set at $1,000.
Police arrested Tomei on charges of a minor consuming alcohol, and disturbing the peace.
The court allowed the defendant to post $50 as 10 percent of the bail, and the remainder as unsecured or appearance bond.
Detectives Ramon Borja, Patrick Sablan, and Joseph Deleon Guerrero were the government’s witnesses.
Assistant Attorneys General Eileen Wisor and Darren Robinson represented the government while Assistant Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed to represent Matsutaro and Tudela. The court had yet to appoint counsel for Tomei.
Police said Matsutaro unlawfully entered the house of the victim, and attempted to sexually abuse her in Kagman.
The victim was waiting for her son.
There was no power in the house, and the victim was using a lamp which the defendant turned off when he entered the residence.
The front door was unlocked, police said.
As Matsutaro attempted to rape her, the victim yelled and called for assistance.
In the second case, Tudela was in his brother’s house when a commotion broke out over a land dispute.
Tudela threatened to kill his brother and the victim’s family.
There was a rifle in Tudela’s vehicle. There was a struggle, and Tudela’s brother took possession of the rifle, but was eventually overpowered by Tudela who escaped with the rifle, police said.
Tomei was in the company of a juvenile, when a staffer of a poker/laundromat establishment in Koblerville told them not to drink alcohol.
They threatened to hurt the staffer before pushing her, police said.
