JOAQUIN Quitugua, Dominic Chargualaf and Jericho Jones were arrested after admitting their involvement in a burglary and theft incident in San Vicente, Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday Oct.17, 2023, at about 10:43 a.m., a burglary and theft incident at a residence on Isa Dr. in San Vicente was reported to the police, the Department of Public Safety said.
Responding police officers learned that the victim was returning home when she noticed two sedans parked in her property.
“The vehicles were unknown to the victim. As the victim called a family member for assistance, the vehicles left the residence. The victim followed the vehicles towards the Papago area until she lost sight of both vehicles. It was later discovered that suspects had pried open a shipping container and stole scrap metal from inside,” Assistant Chief of Police and acting DPS Public Information Officer Simon Manacop said.
Provided with photos and the license plates of both vehicles, patrol officers made contact with one of the vehicles, a white Mazda3, at a residence in Papago just north of Kagman Mobil.
Further investigation led to the arrest of the operator, identified as Joaquin Quitugua, 18, who confessed to stealing scrap metals.
The two other suspects — Jericho Jones, 21, and Dominic Chargualaf, 30 — were stopped by patrol officers on a roadway not far from where the first suspect was apprehended.
“They were operating the second vehicle identified as a Black Hyundai Accent. Both suspects had also admitted to being part of the burglary incident,” Manacop said.
All three suspects were booked and are currently detained at the Department of Corrections. Both vehicles used in the incident were impounded.
