In her special message, Education Commissioner Rita A. Sablan said both promotional and graduation ceremonies were “celebrations of a new chapter in a student’s life.”
“Because of your commitment and focus to finish and study hard, you are now going to the other side (of this campus),” says the education chief. Tinian Jr./Sr. High School is the island’s home to both junior and senior high school students.
“You are a great bunch of kids that have something special and significant in you,” said Sablan, as she hailed the leadership program of the school.
The PSS Leadership Program was pioneered by Sablan and was established to instill and promote leadership and discipline among junior high school students.
In echoing this year’s promotion ceremony theme, “it’s not how fast we get there, it’s all about what’s waiting on the other side,” said Tinian Board of Education member Lucia Blanco-Maratita, adding, “about choices.”
“And all have you have chosen to go to high school and we, your Board of Education and PSS family, and the community, are proud of your choice.
You have accomplished something that is rewarding,” Blanco-Maratita said.
