4 beat up man accused of throwing a rock at residence

The four defendants — Lamberto Flores, Dante Parinas, Numido Florendo, and Roberto Lozano a.k.a. Bobby — each posted $250, or 10 percent of the $2,500 bail, while the rest of the amount was posted as an unsecured or appearance bond.

Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo  directed the four not to have any contact with their victim, Frederico C. Tamayo, and potential witnesses.

Detective Peter A. Aldan said police dispatched its personnel to a disturbing the peace incident at a residence located directly behind Gold Beach Hotel in Garapan on Feb. 14, 2010 at about 9 p.m.

Police said Tamayo was about to go home when he saw a former co-worker and three others playing a card game under a pavilion by the road. He stopped by to watch.

Tamayo later “relieved” himself at the other side of the road way.

When he was walking back to his co-worker’s place, he saw that he was being followed by the four defendants.

Flores then asked Tamayo if he was the one who threw rock at his house and was spying  on a woman, Gloria Sabado.

Tamayo responded that he didn’t know what Flores was talking about.

Flores repeated his question in an angry tone and Tamayo still denied any knowledge.

Flores then punched Tamayo in the mouth, breaking the victim’s false teeth, police said.

Flores was then joined by Parinas, Florendo and Lozano, in beating up the victim.

Tamayo passed out.

When he came to, he ran toward a hotel and called 911.

When Patrol Officer Carl Tudela arrived outside the residence where the mauling happened, the four defendants ran and tried to hide.

Tamayo tried to explain what happened but his lip and mouth was injured, police said.

He had a cut and bruised lip, and there was swelling on his left and facial area and bruises on his arms, police said.

The victim’s mobile phone and watch were damaged.

A female witness later told police that Tamayo did not throw a rock at Flores’s residence.

“It was a coconut that fell from the coconut tree and landed on top of Lamberto’s tin roof residence,” the witness told the police.
