A public announcement was printed in the Variety disclosing the names of the five candidates as required by the Revised Tinian Casino Gaming Control Act, he said.
They are Manuel P. Villagomez, Gabriel DLC. Evangelista, Edwin P. Aldan, Don A. Farrell, Guillermina C. Cepeda and Lydia F. Barcinas.
Dela Cruz said he will only nominate one of these five “qualified candidates.”
Last September, Francisco M. Borja, Peter Q. Cruz and Michael H. San Nicolas retired from the five-member commission.
Prior to their retirement, they expressed their willingness to resign if the Tinian municipal government would ensure that they get their retirement benefits.
Tinan and the Retirement Fund later agreed on a payment plan that allowed the three then-commissioners and other eligible municipal employees to retire.
Each commissioner gets a total of $100,000 a year in salary and benefits.
Dela Cruz said it is important to nominate one more member so that the commission will have quorum.
The two remaining commissioners are Ignacio K. Quichocho and Bernadita C. Palacios.
