5 employers exempted from hiring moratorium

GOVERNOR Juan N. Babauta has exempted five employers from the hiring moratorium.

In six separate letters dated April 15, Babauta informed Senate President Paul A. Manglona, R-Rota, and House Speaker Heinz S. Hofschneider, R-Saipan, that the employers have met the criteria for exemption for critical services mandated under P.L. 11-6 or the Hiring Moratorium Act.

Selki Corp. was given the go signal to hire one non-resident general manager. Alexander Drilling Corp. was allowed to hire one soil engineer. CTSI Logistics has also met the exemption criteria for hiring one computer system analyst and one human resources manager. Morning Glory is now allowed to have one alien Web programmer and a network administration assistant.

Glushko’s Ballet & Modern Dance Class will be allowed to hire a ballet dancer instructor. The governor said in his letter that “this profession is quite new and the commonwealth is indeed fortunate to have someone in the profession among us.”
