Maratita was a former council member and the chairman/advisor for the casino task force that spearheaded the casino initiative during then-Mayor Ike Quichocho’s administration.
Maratita was a long-time contributing member to the Tinian community. The 13th council will always remember his many contributions to this community.
In his last correspondence to the council on June 30, 2010, he commended the members for being very conservative in their expenditures of public funds.
“We are very thankful for his acknowledgement,” the council said.
