Accreditation team visits Hopwood school

Hopwood is now awaiting for the award of term sometime in June and July.

The school was supported tremendously by PSS, Commissioner of Education Rita Sablan and the Board of Education, and was recently visited by  a six-member accreditation team.

“The process was an overwhelming one for everyone but having to stick together as Hilitai family showed the determination of everyone to make this visit a memorable one,” Barcinas said.

He added, “All in all, the magnitude of the process certainly was a learning experience for all HJHS staff, students, and parents. Having such support represents unity and pride of everyone involved. This signifies the team effort, commitment, and determination to showcase what Hopwood is all about. And this resonated during the visit and we all should be proud. We hope to receive six years. All the nine recommendations were addressed and this time we were left with only five recommendations that we are already doing. We just need to continue to strengthen what we put together in our School Wide Action Plan as our driving force to direct us on what we need to be doing for the years to come.”

He said Hopwood would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to all its faculty and staff, students, parents, business community, government agencies, legislative leaders, executive leaders, PTSA officers, and the Saipan mayor “for the commitment and partnership that you’ve provided in the success of the HJHS WASC visit.”
