Aggreko contract unlikely to be extended

Press Secretary Charles P. Reyes Jr. said Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos, who is in charge of finance-related government offices, said Aggreko’s services won’t be necessary in the future.

“[He] told me that Aggreko’s contract is unlikely to be extended,” Reyes said.

A clause in the latest executive order declaring the CNMI under a state of emergency declaration states that “the decision to terminate the Aggreko contract is far from certain.”

But Reyes said this is standard legal  clause.

CUC Executive Director Tony Muna has said that their power plants will produce about 60 megawatts by this month.

Aggreko is currently supplying CUC with 15 megawatts through its containerized generators shipped from Singapore.
