But he said CUC will “definitely disconnect” Aggreko from its power grid by 12 midnight of Sept. 10.
Muna said CUC is already capable of providing power to the island and is not considering a new contract with Aggreko.
“For all the non-believers and for all the folks that doubt, the best thing to do is to have them come on Friday to see if any Aggreko units are on,” Muna said.
The depot used by the Aggreko to operate its containerized power generation will be reverted to the Department of Public Lands, he added.
Muna said Aggreko will not be charged for using the property while the company is arranging to ship its equipment from the island.
He believes Aggreko can ship its equipment out of Saipan in 30 days.
“We want to give them the time they require to move their engines out because the shipping schedule is not on a daily basis,” Muna said.
