Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho ordered the defendant to return to court for his preliminary hearing on Jan. 4, 2012.
The judge found probable cause to believe that the defendant committed the charges filed against him.
The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after he failed to post bail following the hearing on Wednesday.
Detective Jonathan Decena was the government witness and Assistant Attorney General Nicole Driscoll represented the government.
The court appointed Assistant Public Defender Daniel Guidotti as counsel for the defendant.
Police said responding officers arrested Alli Baba Camacho, who appeared to be drunk and reeking of alcohol, inside Zhong Guang store on Texas Road in Susupe at about 3 a.m.
The store’s owner called the police after he was awakened by the noise inside his store.
Investigation showed that Alli Baba Camacho entered the store through a window and took several items, amounting to $107.
