Angelray wants NMI to be child-friendly

“Let’s provide our children a comfortable place, not just at the hospital, government, private offices or our homes, but for the whole islands as well,” Guerrero, 15, told the Variety.

Yesterday, he handed boxes of donated children’s book to the Victim’s Advocacy Office of the Attorney General’s Office, the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and the Domestic Violence Intervention Center.

Guerrero said he also wants to reach out to children who are victims of violence.

“We want to reach out to all children, those who have been abandoned, those who are in pain, and those who are victims of violence,” he added.

Blumel Ada and Keola Fitial of the AGO Victim’s Advocacy Office; Kiki Igitol of the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence; and John Aguon and Pat Falig of the Domestic Violence Intervention Center  thanked Guerrero for the donations.

Guerrero said the books were part of Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan’s donation.

Guerrero was accompanied by her mother Victoria Tudela Guerrero and father Joseph Tenorio Guerrero.

Last April, Sablan presented Angelray Guerrero with a copy of a commemorative Congressional Record honoring the teenager’s unselfish contributions which the lawmaker read during a session of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Angelray Guerrero has donated boxes of clothing, toys, books, school equipment and medical supplies to the Victim’s Advocacy Office, the public library, the Public School System and the Commonwealth Health Center.

Guerrero solicited the donations through Hawaii state Rep. Glenn Wakai’s Reach Out Pacific program.

The teenager said he is still hoping to see a children’s playroom at CHC.
