Cox had a brief meeting with Lt. Gov. Tony Tareg where she discussed issues of important concern including other projects in which the Australian government has been very supportive over the past several years.
Tareg thanked Cox and her government for all the projects and new development it has provided to the FSM.
He said one example is the FSM surveillance vessels which have contributed a great deal to Yap and it people by protecting its resources.
He said without the assistance of the Australian government, Yap’s vast ocean area could not be protected from illegal fishing by other foreign countries.
