Avoid CNMI & IRS tax issues, attend tax workshop

THE Division of Revenue and Taxation invites all business owners and self-employed individuals to attend a tax workshop providing in-depth guidance on common CNMI and IRS tax issues seen by CNMI business owners and self-employed individuals and how to protect from costly penalties and interest.

This event will be held on Sept. 18 and again on Sept. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pepoy’s Café & Restaurant in Susupe, delivering tips to help taxpayers to avoid common tax mistakes and stay compliant with local regulations.  

The workshop will focus on these topics: IRS Filing Requirements for Self-Employed CNMI Residents & Employers, Foreign Bank Account Reporting Obligations, Defending an ERC Audit or Disallowance, Tax Collection Issues & Alternatives (IRS + CNMI), Offer in Compromise Program, Penalty Abatement, Installment Agreement, Common Penalties Assessed Against CNMI Businesses and How to Avoid Them, Addressing Misclassified Workers Before the IRS Does, and learning New Filing Requirements for Most Businesses Under the Corporate Transparency Act.
