(MVA) — The Marianas Visitors Authority joined Pacific Asia Travel Association Travel Mart 2024 held in Bangkok, Thailand last month to seek new travel trade partners.
As part of the trade show held from Aug. 27-29, 2024, MVA met with 24 trade representatives of tour operators and hotels. The Marianas shared a Visit Micronesia space with Palau and Guam.
Since its establishment in 1951 the non-profit Pacific Asia Travel Association or PATA has expanded its membership to more than 90 world-wide representing aviation, hospitality, government and other sectors. It serves as catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region, including the Marianas.
“PATA Travel Mart is one of Asia Pacific’s longest standing international travel trade exhibitions and an excellent opportunity for networking and contracting opportunities to access decision-makers, meet new clients, expand our networks, and establish new relationships,” said MVA Marketing Manager Thomas Kim. “Especially as we were able to make appointments from B2B meetings before the expo, we were able to be strategic and focused in promoting the Marianas to potential new partners.”
MVA met individually with 24 businesses during the event, as well as PATA Manager of Membership Relations Weihan Xu and PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid. Based on information shared about opportunities in the Marianas, potential partners will be able to decide if they would like to pursue business opportunities in the destination.
