Bangladesh Cultural Group president and event organizer Rakibul “Mintu” Islam is inviting community members to join them in celebrating “Pohela Boishakh” at the Garapan Central Park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Bangladesh Cultural Group will present cultural dances, songs and other entertainment, its secretary Habib Ullah Badal said.
Rabby Syed, United Workers Movement president, said this year’s celebration is very significant.
He said the Bangladesh community is looking forward to a better future now that federal immigration law has been extended to the islands.
“We invite other ethnic groups to join in our celebration to further strengthen our bonding and unity,” he said.
