Bank of Hawaii donates $25,000 to Karidat

Yesterday, the bank handed a $25,000  donation to the island’s church-based charitable institution.

“We are very proud to support them because the work they do is very important,” Sheather said.

Karidat executive director Angie Guerrero said the financial support from the bank will greatly help the House of Manhoben, a center that caters to the needs of the youth.

Last year, she said the House of Manhoben was closed due to lack of funds.

Karidat reopened it last June and hired youth coordinator Calvani Deleon Guerrero.

About 767 youths have joined  this year’s youth summer program, Deleon Guerrero said.

“We want the youth to be empowered by providing them services they need to make them  better individuals,” he added.

He said they will continue to generate more funds to help implement youth programs.

The donation was witnessed by Bank of Hawaii assistant vice president service manager  Lisa San Nicolas and Karidat board vice president Ned S. Arriola.
