They separately received in-kind donations totaling $43,272.43 and ended up spending $48,000 more than the total contributions they had raised.
The Republican Party’s former Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider, and his running mate, former Speaker Arnold I. Palacios, who lost to the Fitial-Inos ticket by 370 votes in the Nov. 23 runoff, reported $164,531.91 in total cash disbursements and in-kind contributions worth $162,744.70.
The Independent team of former Sen. Juan T. Guerrero and his running mate, former House Floor Leader Joseph N. Camacho, reported $164,160.25 in cash disbursements and in-kind contributions of $58,021.16.
Former Sen. Ramon S. Deleon Guerrero and running mate, former Education Commissioner David M. Borja, who also ran as Independent candidates, said they disbursed $39,485.95 in cash and received in-kind contributions amounting to $38,110.93.
A CNMI law requires all candidates for an elected position to make a financial disclosure about how much they received and spent during their campaign.
Anonymous donors are not allowed in the detailed accounting of the candidates’ political benefactors.
