The acting education commissioner, Garapan Elementary School principal Yvonne Reyes, yesterday said Michael was notified about the board’s decision last week.
“It’s a very sensitive and personal issue,” Reyes told Variety.
She said the board went through a lengthy discussion and arrived at a fair conclusion.
Reyes said she doesn’t want to make any kind of judgment.
“Everybody should now move on for the benefit of the kids and personal judgments have to be kept aside,” she said.
Michael, for her part, said: “It’s good to hear that I will maintain my position. I am glad that it’s done so I can wrap up all the needed reports for the school year.”
Michael vows to build good relations with the parents and the members of the community.
“We will maintain better relations within the community through better communications with the parents,” she said.
