Bordallo invites Obama to Guam

The president is scheduled to take part in events connected to the 60th anniversary of the security treaty between the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Obama’s focus will be on economic growth, trade and jobs. He is also expected to attend APEC meetings in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“I asked President Obama to include Guam in his travel plans during his visit to the Asia-Pacific region in November,” said Bordallo.

“The president was scheduled [to] visit Guam twice last year, but national issues required him to postpone both his visits to the region and remain in Washington. I am hopeful that the president’s schedule can accommodate a visit to Guam in order to discuss matters of importance to our island, including our strategic importance and impact of the military buildup on our community.”
