Bordallo won’t run in Guam Democratic Party leadership election

Charfauros said it was a good decision, saying someone “fresh and new” should run instead. The Democratic Party is a party of inclusion, he added.

Charfauros earlier said the party, while fractured for years, must now unite and embrace everyone who desires to identify with the grassroots.

Charfauros in the past has been critical of party leaders, saying current party chairwoman Pilar Lujan is not effective as a leader.

Although Bordallo said she will not seek the position, there is a possibility former Gov. Carl T.C. Gutierrez will throw in his hat.

Those interested have until 6 p.m., Nov. 4 to submit an application to Executive Director Vince Arriola, whose office is located in Sen. Rory Respicio’s office.

Applications can also be picked up during the Democrats’ Thursday meetings at the Sinajana Mayor’s Office.
