Primary grade teacher Rita Bonnici’s class surprised the judges with banana and papaya muffins.
Primary grade teacher Kamweli Wilson’s class entered fruit kebabs and wowed the crowd with banana and papaya scones topped with papaya jam.
Teacher Keiko Yamagata’s class managed to whip up three recipes: an island smoothie, a “fruits of the rainbow” platter, and smoothie ice pops.
The first place finishers were Isabella Loan, Dychhya Bhujel and Shea Hartig for their fabulous island smoothie.
Bonnici’s class won second place for their succulent banana and papaya muffins.
Students Jun You, Puti’on Camacho and Maiana Castro won the “most colorful recipe” title for their delectable “fruits of the rainbow” platter.
Kian Khorram, Mark Arangorin and Katlyn Revilla won an award for “healthiest recipe” for their tasty fruit kebabs.
The entries of the two top finishers will be reviewed by a panel which will select the finalists for the 2011 islandwide recipe contest.
