THE result of the post-mortem examination of businessman Shayne Villanueva indicated that his death was self-inflicted, Variety has learned.
The Department of Public Safety launched an investigation into the death of Villanueva, 42, a local businessman, on May 19, 2025, after his body was found at an apartment in Kagman 3 following a welfare check request from a friend.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau were activated to initiate a death investigation.
The Department of Public Safety declined to comment on the autopsy results and referred Variety to the Office of the Attorney General, which had yet to issue an official statement as of Wednesday afternoon, press time.
Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation’s pathologist, Dr. Philip A. Dauterman, conducted the autopsy, which was completed on Saturday, Variety learned.
