All 2010 MMAC team captains, 2011 team captains and anyone interested in forming a team are invited to attend this important meeting.
All businesses, families, schools, government agencies and non-profit organizations are invited to form a team to help raise funds for the fight against cancer.
The Marianas March Against Cancer is the largest cancer fundraising event in the Northern Mariana Islands.
It is the signature fundraising event of the Commonwealth Cancer Association, a non-profit organization that ensures all funds raised are spent in the CNMI.
All funds raised are used to purchase, replace and maintain equipment that is available for loan to cancer patients free of charge; to cover supplies such as prosthetic devices, wound care kits, nutritional supplements, bed pads, and diapers; to provide humanitarian assistance for end-of-life care and comfort; and to develop and implement outreach and education programs and materials to promote cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection.
“We are looking for more companies, organizations or individuals who would like to support the MMAC by donating cash or in-kind goods,” said 2011 MMAC public relations committee chairman Chris A. Concepcion. “And along with sponsors, we are actively seeking teams and volunteers for the upcoming event. If you or anyone you know is interested in contributing to this worthy cause, please join us at our meeting on Feb. 10. Contact 2011 overall MMAC chairman Dave Guerrero at [email protected] or myself at [email protected] if you have any questions or are interested in helping out,” said Concepcion.
The 2011 Marianas March Against Cancer is tentatively scheduled to be held on May 13-14 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The 2011 MMAC is brought to you by title sponsors Take Care/FHP, Saipan Health Clinic/St. Jude Renal Clinic and Delta Air Lines.
