CAO Executive Director Angie Mangarero said she is waiting for the checks to be approved.
She did not mention any dollar figures.
CAO will hand the checks to the principals of schools that sent students to participate in the Cultural Heritage Month celebration.
The schools included Oleai and Koblerville elementary schools, as well as Hopwood Junior High School.
The celebration was held at the Carolinian Village in Garapan from Friday to Monday and involved students competing in different cultural contests such as a speech competition, a Challenge Bowl and a cultural attire event.
Due to the late arrival of participants and audience, however, the closing program on Monday, which was supposed to start at 2 p.m., was held later in the day.
Mangarero said only a few people came, majority of whom were family members of the participants.
“It was still a good celebration,” she said.
Bands and cultural dancers from different schools performed and food was served.
