The workshop will be held in the conference hall of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office in Garapan.
Conducting the workshop today are Kathryn Barry of KB Communications, and Maureen Maratita, publisher of the Glimpses of Guam and Marianas Business Journal.
The chamber yesterday said this is a valuable workshop for businesses because participants will be given tips on “the realities of dealing with the media.”
In an earlier press statement, chamber executive director Kyle Calabrese said the workshop presenters will give the participants tips and insights on how to land their companies on the front page or how to avoid it.
The workshop will give participants ideas and handy tips for media interviews especially if they are scared to appear on radio or television but has to get the news out.
They will also learn how to write press releases to promote their businesses or events, tips on when to say “no comment,” when to issue a statement, and when to advertise to support news coverage.
The workshop fee is $5 per person for members, and $10 per person for non-members.
Seating is limited. Call the chamber at 233-7150 or email [email protected] for more information.
