Chamber mum on construction firm’s complaint vs board member

In an e-mail yesterday, chamber executive director Kyle L. Kalabrese said they have no comment of the complaint of Misamis Construction (Saipan) Ltd. against Steve Jang.

Barrie J. Ladd, operations manager of Misamis Construction, said Jang failed to pay them some $2,000 for renovating the building that Jang used for his business, Cartridge World.

Jang, according to Ladd, never settled the debt despite repeated promises.

A bench warrant was issued by Judge Perry B. Inos against Jang last January for the businessman’s failure to appear in a hearing scheduled for November last year.

Last February, the Registrar of Corporations certified the dissolution of Saipan Terra Corp. Ltd, which Ladd believes is Jang’s company.

Ladd said the filing for the dissolution is part of Jang’s efforts to avoid paying Misamis Construction.

“We believe that his actions in this matter are unbecoming of office holder of the chamber and that he should be disciplined and sanctioned for his actions,” Ladd told the chamber in his letter, adding that it puts the chamber in  a bad light.
