(CHCC) — The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, Division of Public Health Services proudly hosted the first in a series of regional meetings for immunization programs across the nation, in collaboration with the Association of Immunization Managers.
The USAPI immunization program regional meeting brought together representatives from the United States-affiliated Pacific Islands, which include the CNMI, Guam, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, American Samoa, along with regional neighbors, Hawaii and Alaska, for a robust two-day meeting focused on advancing immunization efforts across jurisdictions.
The meeting was held in-person and virtually welcomed approximately 30 participants and featured 10 sessions and six jurisdiction presentations.
Discussions covered the current landscape of immunizations and policy, recaps of previous regional and vaccine access cooperative meetings, and program challenges, successes, and valuable lessons learned.
Participants explored the unique structures and operations of immunization programs across the region, emphasizing activities to increase vaccine coverage and uptake, strengthening confidence and demand, combatting mis-/dis- information, and continued protection of their communities from vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks — particularly during these challenging times.
“We were honored to host this important convening and are deeply appreciative of the participation and collaboration from immunization leaders and partners across the Pacific and beyond,” said representatives from the program. The CHCC Immunization Program would like to acknowledge and extend a warm “Si Yu’us Ma’ase” to all of its Pacific partners who helped make this regional meeting a success.
“Together, we are building a stronger, healthier Pacific — through coordinated action, shared knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to community health.”
