Christmas camp at Hyatt kicks off tomorrow

Camp Hyatt team leader Vangie Sablan said this event will continue until Jan. 4, 2009.

“Children will be exposed to hordes of fun during the holidays which includes activities that enhance learning of new things,” she said.

On Dec. 6, the Hyatt held its first Camp Hyatt Expo where 14 children from two batches participated in the different activities.

“This is our first time to hold the event, and we are happy with the turnout,” Sablan said. “We will not stop here but go on with other similar activities to get the kids involved in fun learning activities.”

She said Ernie David introduced the children to the world of art and were taught how to make the traditional mwar, skinless leaf painting, sketching, finger painting and tennis.

Sablan said one of the highlights of the sessions was the swimming lessons and other water sport activities offered by Hyatt’s certified swimming instructor Lucio Aldan, who was assisted by the hotel’s lifeguards.

Sablan said the children enjoyed the Camp Hyatt activities.

She said they are looking forward to doing more of these activities as part of the interaction with the children of the community.

The first Camp Hyatt’s Expo held on Dec. 5 was split into the morning and afternoon sessions. Sablan said they are expecting participation from more children in the upcoming activities of the hotel.
