Clinic opening delayed but veterans are being attended to

“The clinic is still in the works. We are delayed, but still hopeful that we will be opening soon,” Coleman said.

Dr. Kendall Gladding, a psychologist, is taking care of local veterans at Dr. Ada’s Clinic at the Marianas Associates of the Pacific.

The Veteran Affairs clinic was earlier targeted to open sometime this month.

Coleman said its opening could help address the needs of over 1,000 veterans in the CNMI.

Veterans can also get faster medical referrals from Veterans Affairs doctors.

The CNMI has over a thousand veterans, with over 900 staying on Saipan while the rest are on Tinian and Rota.

“A Veterans Affairs clinic on Saipan would remove a lot of pressure from the veterans since they don’t have to travel to Guam or other places for simple check ups and other procedures,” she said.
