Last week, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington, D.C.-based nonpartisan 501(c)(3) research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy, hosted a panel discussion titled “Strengthening America’s Asian Border: A Discussion with Northern Marianas Governor Arnold Palacios.” The event also featured Cleo Paskal, senior fellow of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies; and Randall G. Schriver, former assistant secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs and current chairman of the board at the Project 2049 Institute, a non-partisan think tank. The discussion was moderated by Craig Singleton, Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ China program director and senior fellow.
