(PSS) — Dr. Annette Pladevega-Sablan and Jeaniffer Cubangbang of the CNMI State Longitudinal Data System showcased their visionary insights and collaborative efforts at the National Center for Education Statistics STATS-DC Conference in Bethesda, Maryland.
Joining them were Principal Paulette Tomokane of San Vicente Elementary School, Principal Dr. Ignacia Demapan of Kagman Elementary School and Erin D’Amelio from the Regional Educational Laboratory Pacific.
They delved into innovative strategies for data-driven decision-making in the CNMI education system. This collaborative endeavor underscored their dedication to advancing student outcomes through evidence-based practices.
“It’s a privilege to share our insights and Early Warning System experiences with federal and state education leaders,” Dr. Pladevega-Sablan said. “Our partnership with SVS, KAG, and REL Pacific not only exemplifies the power of collective wisdom but also serves as a living testament to a system that mirrors the evolving needs of its stakeholders.”
Attendees were captivated by the CNMI team’s pragmatic approach to leveraging longitudinal data from the CNMI’s Early Warning System to tailor interventions, support student success, and foster accountability across the education landscape.
In a concurrent session, Jeaniffer Cubangbang talked about the CNMI’s P20W or preschool, K-12, post-secondary education and workforce data system which is implemented in collaboration with Virginia and Nevada.
“We’re breaking down barriers in education data with our P20W solution,” said Cubangbang. “The synergy between CNMI, Virginia, and Nevada exemplifies the spirit of unity in achieving a common goal — empowering students through data-driven insights.”
The NCES STATS-DC Conference provided an invaluable platform for thought leaders, educators, policymakers, and data enthusiasts to share best practices, foster connections, and shape the future of education through data-driven decision-making.
The CNMI SLDS have once again demonstrated commitment to innovation, collaboration, and student success on a national stage. Their presentations ignited a call for continued partnership and collective action in driving education excellence.
