Yet Rota has more full-time employees working for the government, 310, compared to Tinian’s 251.
Tinian, moreover, has had a casino since 1998.
A Tinian resident, who declined to be identified, said the Senate should either reduce Rota’s FTEs or increase Tinian’s.
“We made a lot of sacrifices. We contributed two-thirds of our land for military lease,” he said, adding that Tinian also contributed $65 million to the Marianas Public Land Trust.
He said there are lots of people who need work on Tinian but there are no available FTE slots.
