Couple donates books to Koblerville Youth Center

Rose Ada-Hocog, Koblerville Neighborhood Watch block captain, said the 26 volumes of Comptom’s Encyclopedia were turned over last Friday.

“The donation was made out of the kindness of the hearts of Julian and Alice Taman,” she said.

She said it was Mrs. Taman who informed her about her intention to donate the books to the center for the children’s use.

“I am so grateful to the Tamans for their donation. As educators, they understand that education is key to a child’s life, whether it be in a classroom or at home, and in this case, in the youth center,” Ada-Hocog said.

She the donation will open the doors of the world even wider for the children.

The Koblerville Youth Center is in need of school resource materials, school supplies, motion sensor lights and ping pong sets, she said.

“If anyone or a business is willing to donate, we would really appreciate it,” she added.
