Wiseman also directed Kapileo to stay away from his wife, children, and their residence.
Kapileo is being held on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.
He was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after his initial appearance and bail hearing on Wednesday.
Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing represented the government, while the court appointed Assistant Public Defender Douglas Hartig as counsel for Kapileo.
Detective Peter Aldan said the incident occurred on Monday night.
Kapileo used a metal pipe in “forcefully stabbing” the victim’s left rib area.
The victim said when she arrived, she saw Kapileo who appeared to be angry as he was waiting at the doorway holding a broom stick.
The children heard their father shouting at their mother to get out of the car and hand him over the keys.
The children were scared because they had seen their father beat their mother several times, police said.
In the presence of the three children, the mother was preparing to get out of the truck when Kapileo picked up a pipe on the ground, and with both arms the defendant forcefully stabbed the victim, police said.
The victim told police that Kapileo “is a violent and abusive person throughout their marriage and violent and abusive in front of their children.”
One of the children told police that their father hit them when they tried to stop him from beating their mother in the past.
The victim managed to get out of the truck and walked toward Happy Market. The daughter followed her mother. Kapileo boarded the truck and left.
Mother and daughter called for police assistance at Happy Market.
While police are investigating the matter, Kapileo arrived at Happy Market, and appeared to be angry. Police arrested Kapileo.
The victim sustained abrasion and bruising on her left rib area from the tip of the pipe, Aldan said.
The victim declined assistance from responding medics. The victim said she would bring herself to the Commonwealth Health Center for further medical attention.
