Wiseman granted the motion to dismiss filed by Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing against Juan M. Santos, 43.
A case dismissed with prejudice means it cannot be filed again against the defendant.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Santos with unlawful purchase and possession ammunition after he bought two boxes of .22 caliber long rifle ammunition on Oct. 26, 2009.
Lorfing said the government entered into plea negotiations with Santos in July 2010.
During this time, Lorfing said “it was determined that administrative action was taken against [Santos].”
“The administrative action taken against [Santos] sufficiently addresses the conduct of the defendant,” Lorfing stated in his motion to dismiss.
He did not mention what administrative action was taken against Santos, who was represented by attorney Bruce Berline.
