A bench trial was scheduled for Nov. 23, 2011, but the Attorney General’s Office filed a motion to dismiss a day before the trial.
“After reviewing the evidence collected in this matter, the commonwealth does not currently believe it prudent to pursue charges against [Muna]. For good cause, the commonwealth believes it is in the interest of justice to dismiss the case without prejudice,” stated Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing in his written motion.
Dismissal without prejudice means the prosecution can file the charges again.
Muna was represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
Last August, a charging document was filed by AGO stating that Muna disturbed the peace of her two victims who were “household members” of the defendant on or about Jan. 23, 2011. No other details were provided.
