Inos remanded Ilo to custody of the Department of Corrections.
Ilo was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, assault, and disturbing the peace.
Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo earlier set a $15,000 cash bail for Ilo’s temporary liberty.
Police arrested Ilo when he showed up at Commonwealth Health Center, where his victim was rushed for treatment.
Prior to the incident on Nov. 6, Ilo was drinking with family members in Dandan.
When they got home at about 3 a.m., Ilo threw a can of beer at his wife, hitting her on the forehead.
Afterward, while the victim was breastfeeding their baby, police said Ilo punched her many times, pushed her to the wall, pulled her hair, and threatened to kill her with a machete.
