Saipan Southern High School hosts Japanese students

“The annual event is now in its seventh year,” said SSHS principal Craig Garisson.

The morning activities involved academic and cultural interaction inside the classrooms, he added.

The Chigasaki students “have their cheerleading team that  performed and our kids got involved in that too. The band was also a big part of it because they brought their band members to play with our students. They all performed together,” Garrison said.

The performances were presented during lunch time at the school field.

“This is a 100 percent contribution type of event where all the food is prepared by our students and their families. And we are grateful of course that they give that time and energy to support the exchange program,” Garrison said.
