Court lowers bail for man in ‘ice’ case

Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona granted the motion for bail modification filed by Janet King, counsel for Juan Delos Reyes Tydingco.

The court allowed Tydingco’s release to his mother as third party custodian. He was also required to post a $29,500 unsecured bond.

Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing, the prosecutor, asked the court to impose curfew from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and to order the police to conduct random checks on Tydingco, which the court granted.

Tydingco has been in jail since his arrest last July, together with co-defendant Calistro Crisostomo, also known as Cal, 27.

Tydingco and Crisostomo have denied the charges.

The jury trial for Tydingco and Crisostomo has been scheduled for March 21, 2011.

Crisostomo, after posting a $30,000 unsecured bond, was  released to his sister as third party custodian last August.

He was rearrested in October for violating the court-imposed curfew and was charged with contempt of court.

The court set a $1,000 cash bail in this new case.

On July 10 2010, the CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a recorded, monitored and controlled buy-walk operation against Crisostomo and Tydingco, who was then driving a pick-up truck used in a drug deal outside a poker parlor in As Lito.
