Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced Ziaul, 41, to 30 days imprisonment, all suspended except for three days that was credited as time he had already served at the Department of Corrections facility.
Ziaul was directed to enroll and complete an alcohol information class, pay the $100 tuition and report to the Community Guidance Center for evaluation.
The court barred Ziaul from consuming alcohol during the period of his probation.
He is not allowed to enter a bar or other establishment whose primary purpose is the sale or consumption of alcohol.
He will pay a $200 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, a $100 probation fee, and will complete 50 hours of community service or pay a $252 additional fine.
The remaining charge of assault and battery was dismissed with prejudice by the court.
On the night of April 16, 2010, Ziaul came home drunk, woke up his victim and accused her of having an affair.
Ziaul threw a plate at the victim who was able to catch it.
Ziaul gestured to hit his victim, but she grabbed his hair and pulled him down.
The victim told Ziaul “to get out of the house and not to come back because [she] didn’t need this kind of problem,” police said.
