Court sets sentencing for Joyner in ‘ice’ case

Joyner’s fiancé, Sharee Maratita a.k.a. Sharee Demapan Diaz, will be sentenced on April 21, 2010.

Chief Judge Mark W. Bennet of the Northern District of Iowa will sentence Diaz, court records showed.

Federal Court Designated Judge David Wiseman approved the stipulation of both parties resetting Joyner’s sentencing.

It was earlier scheduled for April 27, 2010.

Then-Chief Judge Alex Munson approved the release of Joyner on his own recognizance on Feb. 24, 2010, and relieved the duties and responsibilities of his third-party custodians.

Joyner has signed plea agreement, admitting three counts of “ice” trafficking.

Diaz pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

The Drug Enforcement Administration arrested Joyner and Diaz last October on the charge of conspiracy to distribute “ice.”
