CPA expects additional expenses

THE Commonwealth Ports Authority is anticipating to spend an additional $500,000 from January to September this year to be able to comply with the Federal Aviation Administration’s security alert level requirement.

According to CPA documents submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the ports authority is anticipating to spend $347,126 in “increased law enforcement/officer personnel overtime” between Jan. 18 to Sept. 30, 2002.

An additional $92,000 is estimated to be spent for equipment, supplies, radios, badge stock, vehicles, among other things.

Some $119,889 were allocated for insurance.
