(CUC) — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation’s contractor, Hong Ye Construction or HYC, is mobilizing to commence construction for the Lower Miha Sewer Line Replacement project. As a result, there will be traffic delays in Lower Miha village affecting Beach Road, Micro Beach Road, Botones Avenue, Adetfa Street, and Kalachucha Avenue from April 10 to Nov. 9, 2024.
The purpose of these traffic delays is to allow HYC to replace the existing ACP sewer line and establish a new route for the replacement sewer line. Additionally, this project will involve reconnecting the affected residences.
The construction activity will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. There may be adjustments to the work routine due to the tide level, which affects the groundwater level and may interfere with the construction work. No construction activity will continue after 4:30 p.m. unless work necessitates otherwise.
About the project
The Lower Miha Sewer Line Replacement project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to provide a more reliable sewer system. The transition work is part of decommissioning the old sewer line and will be replaced with PVC pipes.
Due to the traffic delays, motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution while driving in the areas or take alternative routes.
CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your cooperation in accommodating the traffic delays necessary to complete this critical infrastructure improvement project for our customers.
